There’s an interesting dynamic when meeting people at hostels. You tend to become close with people rather quickly and then part ways just as fast. Exchanging contact information is less common than you might expect. Today I said goodbye to multiple people I’ve spent quite a bit of time with people I’d become close to, some who's names I can’t remember.

Thanks to a mix-up at the Hostel in Ao Nang I’m currently on a three hour bus ride back to Phuket Town. What I booked last night was a ferry, or it was supposed to be. On the bright side, more blog posts, and more cash in my pocket! Other than the transportation snafu K-Bunk was one of the better hostels I’ve stayed in thus far. It could have used a few more showers and bathrooms, but the staff was amusing and I met quite a few fun and interesting people from all over the world.

SEA Travel Intro
Hello There!
I'm writing to you from gate A2 at Suvarnabhumi Airport (Bangkok, Thailand) as I wait for my flight to Phuket to meet up with Charlie and Tyler who have quite graciously offered to host me for a couple of days.
But let me back up a moment and provide some context before I jump into the happenings of the last 24? hours. I'm actually not sure how long it has been since I left let's see-- okay I believe it's been just shy of 29 hours now since I first took off --But no matter, here, have some context!
As some of you may know I've been talking about taking a trip for quite some time, on the order of years. I first watched a documentary in late high school Wild China which I believe is still on Netflix Here.
(Note: Despite multiple viewings I've only seen the first few episodes which cover natural stuff, and have skipped the ones about people.)
Which inspired this all. Things kept getting in the way but in the fall I quit my job to focus on personal projects financed by freelance work on the side. My lease was up at the end of March and I figured I'd wait it out before leaving, then I was dumped, bought a ticket 10 days later, moved out two days after that, then planned and organized everything over the next almost 2 weeks and here we are.
At the very least you can say things have been a bit rushed. I was hoping to have this blog set up, and at least my first post up before leaving but I was still getting ready the morning I left. That was actually the first time I even tried packing my bag!
I'll go more into that and what I had wanted to include on those posts, but I'm going to jump ahead for a second to update some stuff I'm worried I'll forget before going back to my packing list, vague itinerary and other stuff. [Also, if people have requests regarding the type of information I share here, just let me know and I can make sure to keep track of it and share it.)
Some stuff that has happened:
While I was waiting in Taipei at the gate a lady sat down near me to ask about the flight and then proceeded to share her life story. Unfortunately it was somewhat hard to understand her, hopefully I'll get better at understanding the accent, but from what I got the story was ridiculous including child trafficing in laos, dead husbands in America weird jobs for lawyers. She even kept with me after the flight and was supposed to introduce me to her son, but I lost her after going through immigration, and have no way of contacting her. I believe she was headed to Chang Mai.
For people interested in doing something similar to this trip I'll try to include thing's I've learned along the way and try to get a general format to some of these posts. This is a long text well to start.
I'm going to wrap this one up now. I actually wrote it, as it suggests quite some time ago, but it's been sitting here waiting to go up for some reason. I have a few more posts to put up today. Sorry they're not spaced out as they should be.

Electron Microscope
A few years back I had access to an electron microscope. I took a few items I found around the house and 'Photographed' them. The first three are a bee from my windowsill, the next is a red pepper flake seed. and then the last two are some packing foam.
